Welcome to Storyscape, a collection of creative projects on the themes of cities, landscapes and stories, by Duncan Alexander Smith. I’m an urban geographer working at University College London, and this site showcases creative projects I enjoy doing in my free time.
Edinburgh-
The city of Edinburgh is an inspirational place, with a spectacular cityscape and layers of history written in the stones. You can read about a project exploring the history of Edinburgh here.
Travels-
This section shows photography from my travels in China. China is an amazing country with spectacular scenery and culture. It's rapid industrialisation is bringing incredible change.
Writings-
The cinema is a passion of mine, particularly epic and fantasy films. I've been working on an adaptation of J.R.R Tolkien’s The Hobbit for film, which I hope Lord of the Rings fans will enjoy.
